Bonfire Night Nov 5th Leeds

Bonfire Night Nov 5th Leeds

Bonfire night will be going off with a bang tonight with numerous, mostly Council run, bonfires taking place around the Leeds area, including Middleton Park, East End Park, Woodhouse Moor (Hyde Park), Bramley Park and Springhead Park. The biggest as usual will be at Roundhay where the fireworks start at 8.00pm.

As always the Guy Fawkes Bonfire plot provides a great reason to get out and have some fun. We only wish that we celebrated the Gowrie Plot which was an arguably better plot against James the First in which he was kidnapped with the ruse that the kidnapper had found a small man with a pot of gold and James was conned into going to see it. This happened when he was only king of Scotland, but nonetheless it could be a great additional celebration to add to our seasonal calendar.

Don't forget to bring your sparklers and wrap up warm tonight.
